Radiation Treatment for Breast Cancer

External radiation therapy is often prescribed after breast-conserving therapy or mastectomy (once the area has a chance to heal) to kill any cancer cells that may still be in the breast, chest wall or surrounding lymph nodes.

Surgery

Breast cancer surgery may include surgery to remove cancer from the breast and lymph nodes from under the arm.

Breast Conserving Therapy

This therapy involves removing the primary cancer from the breast (also called a "lumpectomy," "wide excision," "partial mastectomy," or "quadrantectomy") while leaving the rest of the breast intact.

Breast Cancer Treatment

Treatment for breast cancer is determined by the stage of disease and the cancer receptors (Estrogen receptor, Progesterone receptor, and HER2).

How You Can Help

Adrenal cancer can occur at any time in a person’s life. It is extremely rare -- about one in a million people face the disease. But with an average five-year survival rate of just 51%, it presents a grave threat to patients. The need to advance new therapies, discovery research, and medical and science education is great.

Adrenal Tumor Research

Adrenal cancer research is actively involved in finding the causes and best treatment of adrenal cancer.
